Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked Again; Petrol Crosses ₹ 100/Litre Mark In Pune

Prices of petrol and diesel have yet again reached new highs today, and Pune has become the newest city to cross the ₹ 100 per litre mark. Today, on May 31, the price of petrol in Pune stands at ₹ 100.09 per litre, while diesel has reached ₹ 90.66 per litre mark. In the nation’s capital, Delhi, petrol price has reached ₹ 94.23 per litre, while diesel price stands at ₹ 85.15 per litre. At the same time, in Mumbai, petrol and diesel prices have touched – ₹ 100.47 per litre and ₹ 92.45 per litre, respectively. This is the 16th time fuel prices have been hiked in the month of may 2021.

Among other metros, petrol price in Chennai today stood at ₹ 95.76 per litre, while the rate of diesel in the region went up to ₹ 89.90 per litre. At the same time, in petrol price in Kolkata has reached ₹ 94.25 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹ 88 per litre. In Bengaluru, the price of petrol has reached ₹ 97.37 per litre, while diesel rate has touched ₹ 90.27 per litre. Overall, in the metro cities, petrol rates have gone up by up to 29 paise, while diesel has become expensive by up to 28 paise today, on May 31, 2021.

In Maharashtra, petrol prices in the Ahmednagar district too crossed the ₹ 100 mark, currently standing at ₹ 100.13 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹ 90.71 per litre in the region. However, petrol prices are still the most expensive in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan, where it currently stands at ₹ 105.24 per litre, while diesel is priced at ₹ 98.08 per litre, slowly creeping towards the ₹ 100 mark. Other regions where petrol and diesel rates have already crossed the ₹ 100 and ₹ 90 per litre mark, respectively, include – Anuppur, Rewa, Jaisalmer, Banswara, Indore, Bhopal, Gwalior, Ratnagiri, Aurangabad, and Parbhani.

Right now, oil marketing companies like – Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum are revising domestic fuel prices on a daily basis. Changes in fuel prices are usually implemented at 6 am every day, however, since the last two weeks, we are seeing a revision is priced once every two days.
