In India, Airtel is the first telecom provider to offer 5G services. According to a news source, Sunil Bharti Mittal, the founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, stated that Airtel will launch 5G postpaid and prepaid recharge services in major parts of the country by March 2023 and across all of India by March 2024. Airtel 5G Plus is expected to have a 20–30 times faster speed that is 20–30 times faster than 4G.

Although this is the complete list of Airtel 5G supporting devices, it should be noted that some of them, such as iPhones, have not yet received an update that would enable their 5G settings.

How to use Airtel 5G services on your device?

You have to activate 5G on your smartphone to enjoy mobile prepaid and postpaid services, regardless of whether you are in Airtel 5G Plus city or have a compatible smartphone. You can refer to the steps below on how to activate 5G on an Android and iPhone separately:

  • Go to “Settings” on your phone.
  • Choose “Mobile network” or a comparable option.
  • Select the Airtel SIM to activate.
  • Tap the “Preferred network type” link from here.
  • Choose the 5G network type.
  • Within the next few minutes, if 5G has been enabled in your area, a 5G sign should appear on the status bar.

Soon you will be able to make Airtel 5G postpaid and prepaid recharge on your handset. You can check whether 5G is available by opening the Airtel Thanks App and checking if your phone is 5G equipped and if your city is 5G ready.
